This dog season is taking a toll on my trucks. Both of my trucks need parts now.Last week I had both bottom ball joints go out on my Chevy. And this week its the lock ins on the Toyota. But I guess its time the Toyota to get new lock in kits. Its a 1987 4 runner and still had the factory lock ins on it.and the Chevy still had the factory ball joints. So its not like their just fallen a part or anything. Its just time to do some things I should have all ready done..So I hope everyones hunting truck is holding up better than mine??

Dang I was beginning to think I was the only member that visited this section lol.... ;D Yeah ten-4 Im putting my truck in the shop asap to have some things done, it was falling apart about the last day of hunting-season so I just rode with my dad, them dirt-roads can really kill a truck lol.... Im gunna have the exhaust-leak fixed, it needs a new radiator I think but Im gunna leave that up to their discretion, and it needs a vaccum-hose along with some new plugs and then she should be back to running good again I would think.... My lock-ins are doing good just REALLY hard to turn so far they are dependable when I need 4x4 so Im sticking to them, hope your truck gets better soon.... I tell ya what though I would love to have my grandad's truck to hunt in, he dont care if we use it but ya know how it is you just want it to be yours ya know??.. His truck is a Red Chevrolet z71 4x4, with extended-cab, toolbox with steel-whip mounted on it.... Weve got my dad's old Superstar-120 in it right now but it dont work to good, if we hunted in it all the time Id put a decent radio in it more than likely but for now the Superstar will do I guess.... Im gunna wait till my tires that came on the truck wear out and then get a set of Kodiak ATs I think, I like mudgrips but I need something that is gunna last on the road to but still do good in the mud so ATs prolly fit the bill, and I just bought drink-holders to go in my truck so I dont have to try and hold my drink without spilling it while also trying to head the dogs off at the same time and that is not a good situation lol.... Takemeasy and have a goodun....-tim

Tim,I'm not running on dirt roads.its a little rougher than that 75% of the day I spend running up and down logging roads. So when it rains it can get tough and its pouring down here as I wright this.I ordered new lock in kits today and they will be in tomorrow or they said they would. So by tomorrow night the Toyota will have a new set of warn lock in kits in it..I'm a lot easier on my truck than some of the guys I hunt with.Sunday lead foot crossed bear creek in his truck to get to the dogs.He said water got up over his tires and he is running 34 inch supper swamper.I think he is crazy for even thinking of trying that. But that is just a hunting truck to him he just got it fix Saturday night from the last big mud hole he went threw. That was the same mud hole I had to change the oil in my Toyota after being pulled out of.I named that mud hole the yota killer ;D and the name seems to fit it.. Well anyway I guess dog hunting is rough on a truck.. dd444

my chevrolet is gettin to the point that there are things startin to have to be changed out. my tensioner on my serpentine belt came apart on the way home from the lease the other day. i have some junk in my fuel tank so the truck isnt runnin good at startup. my tires are wore slap out, i got 85000 miles on a set of buckshots. i put in a $250 front hub assembly a few months ago, a $200 fuel pump in feb., shocks recently.... lol im goin broke tryin to keep it goin. i still have 1 more note on the truck. but i do have 166,000 miles on it and i am just now replacin these things.
i put my truck through some tough times at the deer lease tryin to get to dogs and dead deer. my ole truck is scratched up really bad and has a few dents in her but all in all its been alright

i'm hoping my old 84 hilux will last another year, then me and the bank will have to get another. Bull bar is cracked from the 3 deer i've hit in the last year. Panels are all dented , tub near rusted off and had to put a tray on it. Using oil, . What offers? ;D

Brandon, what we are showing here is part of what we do with our trucks . We pulled up out of there with 12 dogs , 2 deer ,most likely 8 people all with a 2.4 litre hilux . We get back to camp and re arrange things so that we can travel home without any one taking too much notice of what we are doing. We are talking 320 kg of dogs or so , 320 -350 kg of deer plus three quarters of tonne of people.
