Thats cool, I know boys that run whips, I know boys that run magnets, and like you got brandon I know boys that got the fiberglass deals but the one on the red truck sux so we dont use it nemore........ Coolpixs and goodantennas........-tim

A good ole steel whip is the way to go. Just have to take it easy at the drive thru places. They don't much appreciate the noise.

Hey bowevil, you said the whip is better but doesnt it bang up against other trucks in traffic? ? I know my buddy's whips sway all over the place........-tim

I run a whip with a ball mount and spring.Mounted to the side of my 4 runner.The thing with a whip is you don't have to worry about your swr's like you do with other antennas.Lots of folks put tennis balls on them but I don't it makes the antenna go all over the place.

Ya i got mine monted on the middle of my tool box on a ball and spring U dont need a tennis ball!!!

Mine was mounted on the bed rail right behind the cab. I never had a problem with swaying.

Ok just making sure, it may be the tennisball but some of these boys around here go around a corner and their whips looks like helicopter blades getting ready to take off they sway so bad lol........-tim

The tennis ball is what's causing that. If they just insist on having a tennis ball on it, they need to slide it down the antenna. They'll wind up hitting somebody or their car with that whip. Whatever butt whooping they get for that is well deserved.

Mine wasn't on a spring mount. It was on a straight bracket mount. They bend enough so I never worried about the spring.

I hooked my dad's old radio up in my truck today just for a testdrive and it worked really good, dont know but its working now so now I got a Superstar120 in my truck with Wilson1000Magnet and dad has my GeneralLee with Wilson1000Magnet.........-tim
