Pretty good set up ya got there. I had a superstar 121 with a palomar 75 that would swing about 350 with a 102" steel whip. That booger would reach out and touch somebody, if you know what I mean.

You do have to worry about swr's with a steel whip or any other antenna,if the swr's are not low you will burn up your radio!!!!!! But most of the time if you have good coax and a 6inch spring with your steel whip they will be low but you still need to check them!!!!

the wilson is a good antena .. but i would go with the 102" (8'.5") steal wip with or without the spring the key is to use a coax lingth of 18' from antena to box or radio and ground the mount real good to the chaise of the truck i use a 10gauge wire for the ground on mine witch is mounted to the dog box on my truck .. also CHECK THE STANDING WAVE !!!!!!!! if the standing wave is not corect it will burn up the radio ..

like i said check the standing wave if it's over a 1.5 try to adjust it to get a 1.5 or lower the 1.5 reading is an acceptable reading ..
the only problem that i have with the still whip is that it is so long that it has a tendency to hit tree limbs and some power lines it also hits when u go through drive throughs like hardies and also car washes ..
