Andybody had any experience with running Jack Russells in fox pens? I race my jack russells, but the best training for them is in the woods, and just curious if anyone has ever run some jack russells in a fox pen. Thanks in advance for the suggestions.

I have a fox pen,and I have a CRACK RUSSELL!! lol,he runs up and down the wire when they come by,but I will never let him in it.I dont know about all the JR's but this one I feel like would go back to the den and kill the whole family.Just my opinion

I race my jack russell's but I want to train them in fox pens, to build endurance, muscle, etc. Training them on the track all the time gets them bored. I am suppose to be going to a fox pen soon with a buddy that has some beagle pups, so just wondering how everything works. Total rookie at this, but I am excited. It is a 50 acre pen.

oh and forgot to mention. my jack russell's would kill it if they caught it. They are very prey driven. I am just trying to set up a training program for them for the next 6 months to train for a big trial, and I would rather hunt in a pen, instead of out in the open. Not confident that I could catch them up if they were turned loose out of a pen.

yeah, my pups have no mercy if they catch. I will not let them run in the pen if they have dens that my pups can get into. I don't want to cause any trouble. I just want my dogs to enjoy a nice day with me and get some very very good excersise in. I do it for the dogs. The dog parks is not enough of a work out for them.

Does anyone know of any fox pens located near central florida. With no coyotes in the pens, just fox?
