Hunting Yotes with dogs? That's the first I've heard of that. Does anyone have any video footage or know where some is to check out.
Thanks Jason

Mississippi, it's hard to hunt yotes here, not saying that it isn't done, it just isn't open land like Randy Anderson's turf in Nebraska. No one that I know personally hunts them, they might bust one while hunting something else, but most folks don't bother with it. I know were are getting ate up with em though.
Just never heard of hunting them with dogs. Since Mississippi doesn't have the open terrain, would it be easier to hunt them with dogs vs. just trying to howl or varmint call them up? I own a bunch of the Randy Anderson Primos calls but haven't tired it enough to make any head way. Turning a pack out on em seems alot more fun and easier to me, just didn't know folks did it.

Yes sir that is a jam up video, looks fun. Definetly would have to have some good dogs.
Do any of them use a catch dog or just let the hounds do it all?

we let the hounds chase to shoot, but if my hounds catch they finish the job.

Actually when I go up to Mississippi to visit my Granddad's place I get in the hayloft with a good rifle. They come down to his stock pond for water and I have a clear 200yd shot on them. Can usually drop 2 before they vanish. He told me of a man attacked and killed by a pack of yotes about 2 months ago and a father and son attacked while tending their cows. They survived but were pretty badly mauled. I thought of putting out bait to bring more in but then they would be more apt to go after his calves as well. Heck they have even broken into his dog pens and killed his dogs. One weekend a couple of years ago one of his neighbors who had just moved in next to his asked how I was able to kill so many.I decided to show him. When the pack came in I let him take the shot and just watched. He only got off one shot with his .243 but it was a great shot. When we went to check out the carcuss we found it was a Bluetick......his Bluetick that had been missing for 2 days. He stood there for several minutes before finally saying "Well at least I was the one to shoot my own dog." The yotes and wild hogs there are why when I go hunting I carry my rifle and a pistol. Not to mention the rattlesnakes and cotton mouths.
