Welcome back Gunman. I'm relatively new myself. Only been on about 3-4 months. I'm located in east central Florida. What area of this fine country are you located in?

Well Gunman, I would be interested in learning some things about running hounds in France. To be honest I never thought about running dogs in other countries, but my Father told me that he used to run deer/stags in Poland before World War 2. They would set out standers in a long line, put the hounds out and the deer would make large circles and come back across the standers. What game do they hunt with hounds in France? How do they go about it? What kind of dogs do they run? I hope you don't mind me asking. I'm just curious. There is a gentleman from Australia that posts some really interesting stories about his hunts with some really good pictures of some of the stags they have killed. I really enjoy reading his posts.

not problem post questions, but to be honest, i know little and only trained 2 dogs as catch dogs.
here in france the land is full of mountains, tradition is like you described, they have a line of shooters and cercle animals and direct them into the shooting line.
here they hunt, hogs, and deer mostly (and feather game of corse)
there are lot's of breeds and crosses used, i will try to get some info on dogs used here
