Three Ladies Running !!!! 23 Oct 10 This was a Saturday morning and all the easy to reach spots in the Jackson County Swamp already have trucks loaded with hounds ready for a hunt. Dixie, Pearl and Pumpkin joined me for a long boat ride up the Pascagoula River. The river is low so I had to take it slow. It took about 45 minutes to travel 5 miles up the river. I bumped over some logs and hit the sandy bottom several times. Pearl had been in heat and had not yet had a turn running in the swamp. For a first time out with older hounds she did well. She joined in every race and may have started one track. Our longest run of the morning lasted about 30 minutes. Pearl fell in behind Dixie and Pumpkin and worked hard to catch up. The low waters make travel on the river a bit of a hazard. This on-board- dog-box keeps my little hounds safe and secure. It would also make a good place to spread lunch. Today all I had was coffee…. We did not bag any bunnies today but we had some fine runs and enjoyed our time on the river. Video Time… Turn up the volume and click on the following images. Our first video of the day shows 11 month old Pretty Girl Pearl getting all “Fired Up”. It did not take this young gyp long to catch up and stay with the older hounds. About 10 minutes into this run they had a hard loose. This gave Pearl a chance to catch up and when she arrived on the scene, she picked up the loose and put that bunny back on the move. This was a good start for this young gyp. Way to go Pearl….
