Pups are now 10 months old and ready for some action.
My four pups, three out of one litter born 16 Nov 09 and one out of a second litter born a few hours later on 17 November are all grown up and ready for the up coming season. They all were running solo at six months and now I am ready to easy them (one at a time) into the pack. I looked them over today and wondered how those velvet ears may look after a few months of hard hunting in the swamp.
They were not happy about being clipped to the fence but hard as I try I can not get them to obey the “Pose” command.
It is hard to say which of these fine pups will turn out to be the best. Only 8 short months ago at least one of these would have sold for just $200, now they are all priceless.
Pearl is a fine little gyp out of “Paw Paw’s Hot Foot Lucy and Paw Paw’s Pistol Packing Pete”. She is sure to become a great rabbit runner.
Paw Paw’s Pretty Girl Pearl
Lucky is litter mate to Pearl and shares her excellent Satsuma/Poison Patch/ Patch blood line. Over the years my hounds have evolved from mostly Satsuma to a mix of Satsuma and Poison Patch. This has seemed to slow them down just a little and add a touch more control. Now with my hard charging Patch Hound “Pete” in the mix this may cause them to pick up the pace and show a little more step.
Paw Paw’s Lucky Charm (He is a Looker)
Chance is the last of the three pups that I kept out of Lucy and Pete. He was running at just 4 months old. He is a little aggressive and may run all the bunnies out of the swamp before we get any shots.
Lacey’s Best Chance Ever
Snoopy is out of “Paw Paw’s Pumpkin Patch and Paw Paw’s Call Him Cowboy” which makes him full sister to Lucy and the uncle to the above three pups. Uncle Snoopy is a day younger than the others. He may be a day late but not short on hunt, charm or good looks.
Paw Paw's Super Dooper Snooper Snoopy
