hi; im beagle232 and im just starting to get into running rabbits with beagles,I love running rabbits and spending time in the woods with my dogs, my dogs are all grade dogs they still young and we are learning every day, but right now we are having trouble with the small rabbits they ;\my dogs \ just cant keep the race doing for long, they are doing better each time out, i try to run them twice or three times a week if i have the time, im wondering is any one having problems with the baby rabbits, ps,the baby rabbits have slowed down my male beagle and he not over running the tracks like he once did.

You'll find that baby rabbits are not the only rabbits that are hard for a dog to run. A pregnant doe (female rabbit) will lose her scent when breeding time arrives and also when she is within a week of having her litter and shortly after having her litter. There are several times when we hunt that we kill 90% male buck rabbits and only kill 1 or 2 females. This is due to breeding cycles. As long as your dogs aren't catching the little bunnies, keep running them. They'll get better and better each trip.
