Can you give ivomec to a mama dog with pups still on her? Or should we skip this months dose?
Thanks

I never skip the ivomec. But I tend to be a fanatic about worming a dog....it's always been my thought that it's cheaper to feed a dog than worms.
As for the ivomec, it won't hurt the puppies, what little they'll get from the female is just that much more protection for them.

No, it won't, I give it to mine year 'round bred or open, my gyps get it. Overdosing maybe, but it would take a heck of a dose.

Oh ok, thats good to no. I had a dog that was bred and showing a little sign and I gave it to her and she lost them. A guy told me it was the ivomec I had gave her.

If she had an allergic reaction to it or some such, maybe, but I highly doubt it. There are a few breeds that can't take the ivomec, collies and collie breeds, but that shouldn't apply to your dog. I don't think I'd give it to a dog I'd never used it on when she's bred, but if they've had it before they'll be good to go when the next dose is due.
