What is the best age to wean pups? We're splitting a litter of 10 up amongst our hunting group so we aren't all that concerned about doing it quickly.
Thanks

I agree, I have one female dog that starts weaning her pups early between 3-4 weeks she's ready to kick them to the curb. LOL I try to have my pups eating NO LATER than 4 weeks old and wean them at 6 weeks.

I like to keep them on mommas milk as long as she will let them . I start them on milk replacement around 4 weeks and then add a little kibbles to their milk around 5 weeks . That many pups is hard on a gyp .

I try to start them lapping at the replacement milk at 3-4 weeks then I start adding moistened kibble gradually building up to dry food by 6 weeks mine have been weaned.
