started as a thorn stuck near near eye. i pulled it out and applied antibiotic cream x 2 daily. she kept wiping at it and got it spread down her nose.skin was raw and crusty aroung the egdes. vet one said infection and gave her a shot of antibiotics and a shot of steroids and cream. one wk later skin looks more blacked and the crusty edges were gone but it had not reduced in size. one spot about the size of a silver dollar and 2 spots on her nose about dime size. vet 2 said fungus and to apply antifungal x 3 dailey. been doing that for 12 days now. without much change. the skin looks only slightly smoother. it has not spread any more and she doesn't wipe at any more. a fellow beagler said to use nu-stock and it would clear it up in a week. anyone else tried nu-stock any other ideas on what it might be waldor

I've never used nu-stock but have heard great things about it. It could very well be fungal, staph infections are pretty common in damp type climates (like we've had in MS this winter) A betadine bath and some nu-stock should take care of either one....just a dirt fungus or staph.

applied nu-stock for the 3rd time today. she is already starting to regrow hair. i thinned it with mineral oil to make it spread a little better. it still stays on great. i may not need an additional treatment. this stuff works great
