Ive had mine for 2 seasons now and wont turn out without it again. Lots of fun . I still run my quicktrack on them too but havent pulled that box out all year. They will lose signal every now and then depending on the terrain . 1.5 miles is usually where the signal goes in and out . Not hard to get them back on radar , all you gotta do is head toward them. I still using the small antenae and carry the unit in my pocket. Several guys I run with have the long range antennaes on top of the truck and say they get about 2.5 miles BUT, weve had some problems with units getting real short on range ,like, 300 yards and then nothing. Garmin says its the VHFs we use thats messing them up . You have to send it to Garmin to repair it. The only ones I know of that have had that issue are the ones with the long range antenae on top of the truck along with the VHF radio antenae.
My experiences . John

what ever you guys do,keep the quick track on with the garmin at all times because 17 hours will run out before the next morning on a allday deer hunt and if you was to lose one of your prized dogs you could still be able to stay with it and get it.Garmin is the best investment for knowing exactly where the dogs are within 1 inch.It will saved them from getting on a highway, knowing where to catch them quickly.
