Y'all that are using the garmin systems. What type of terrain are y'all in and what type of dogs are you running? I am seriously thinking of getting this system for next yr. need some info.. I have the justification for buying but want to make sure its a great investment. Thanks.

The dc30 seems to have solved the issues. Get an extended range antenna to go with it. I get between 1-2 miles in the pinewoods of N Florida. I get a steady 3 with the Ext range antenna. I have 10 collars and run beagles for deer. The system is awesome, I've had it for over 2 years now.

How long does the charge on the collars last ? What is the re-charging time?

You can set each collar on either 5, 10 or 30 sec updates. I believe max time with 30 sec is around 24 hrs. I use mine all day and charge at night. They will usually charge for about 2 hrs.

Troy I've heard alot of great things with this new collar and was planning on getting the extended antenas for the hand held and the roof top. I figured if I lost signal I could go to the area were the signal was lost and pic him up again... Thanks for the info..

gundogsupply.com i think is the address.... search for gun dog supply, owned by steve snell... i have used him before and he is dependable. the gps unit and 2 collars is $800. its $600 for the unit and one collar, $200 for each collar after that.
