Anyone know how to get rid of kennel cough without paying a ton of money at the vet. I have 8 dogs and 1 dog has shown signs of kennel cough. I want to finish the season with all my dogs, and I do not want any of them to miss a weekend. I put a little bleach in their drinking water and am giving the 1 that shows symptoms Sipro. Any suggestions or thoughts would help, and can I continue to run them?

Keep the bleach in the water, I was skeptical but it does help. I had a fellow hunter kindly bring me kennel cough and it went through everything I had, one by one. The bleach did seem to shorten it though. I put everybody on Cephalexin 500mg 2x daily at 1st symptom as well. (My dogs weight range is 50 - 70 lbs) Cipro is an excellent drug but be careful running a dog taking it, it has been known to cause ligament and tendon weakness leading to ruptures.

i use about a cap full of bleach to every gallon or so water in their water bucket. shortens it up and keeps it from getting as bad.
