Anybody care to share some gas ... Whoops I mean bean recipes . Love them things , Pot a beans and cornbread or Ho cake .....................................................

I can tell you how to eliminate much of the gas one gets when eating beans.
Soak them overnite.
Then pour the water and beans thru a strainer, saving the water.
Put your new water on the beans and cook them then, however you like them.
Left over water from soaking:
What happens is you leach out much of the complex sugars that are in the beans. That is why many have the gas afterwards.
But--this water with the complex sugars in it is great for plants. The sugar is ready for the plant to use, 'right now'!
Down south where y'all take some plants indoors cause of the cold will find this bean juice water will be great for them plants.

this is how i cook my pintos..2 lbs dryed pintos,2 lb pork neck bones, one whole onion chopped , creole seasoning.coarse ground black pepper. salt use the amount of seasoning to suit your taste ,i use lots of creole , oh yea and one jalapeno chopped up..put it all in a big pot bring to a rollin boil for 3 mins then let set for one hour ,bring back to a boil reduce heat ,cover and simmer for bout 5 or 6 hours ( i usually do mine at night and let them simmer on low all night) then pick the bones out , cook you up a big pan of corn bread(my wife has to do the corn bread) get you a big ole chunk of onion and go to eatin..be careful not to hurt yourself, i usually do..lol

Does it matter on the brand of creole seasoning ? some are good and others I've had I tossed in the garbage . Tony Ca ... what ever his name I liked . I hear ya on hurtin tour self, thats my problem too when there good....

i use tony chachere mr. b ...i been thinkin bout them all day after makin the post this morn.. i got some cookin right now, my wifes mothers side of the family is having there christmas party tomorrow and thats what im takin ..oh yeah, i add a little chili powder too ..i forgot that til i started cookin them this evenin..lol...and when we have some left over (usually dont)we put them in a freezer bag and freeze them for later

Anyone else have good bean recipes ? If I have left overs, I'll smash and mash the beans up add onion diced kinda small to mix in with it add a tiny bit of flour and make pattys the fry them up sometimes I will also fry some bacon put it in the freezer then crumble in the mashed up pattys then fry , man im making my self Hungry ;D

them dang beans smellin so good bout 4:30 this morn i almost et a bowl for breakfast Man if I was in your kitchen, Id a had a bowl with ya ;D

I don't know what the difference is,but my mama can cook some on the top of the wood stove ,and they just taste better.Maybe it is just in my head.
