Any tricks for bringing a female dog to her milk?
Other than these.... Oxytocin, Tums, Calf Milk Replacer, Eggs, High Pro feed or cows milk. The Oxytocin alone is supposed to work....but it ain't even touching it.

You can get a shot from the vet or give plenty of yogurt, sour cream ,tomato juice ,chicken broth and raw eggs. The more liquids they take in the more milk they will give.

She's had 3 shots of the oxytocin from the vet, to no avail, milk and raw eggs (1/2 dozen daily) - I've not tried the yogurt, sour cream, tomato juice or chicken broth. She's got a LITTLE bit more milk - not nearly enough, but maybe a tiny bit of progress. Not looking all that spunky for the wee ones

Nothing has worked, of the 11 pups whelped, 4 are alive. Those 4 seem to be doing fine, she has very little milk, but enough for the few pups she has - they seem to be growing normally now, they're fairly fat and quiet like satisfied pups.
As always, there's more to the story. I'm thinking it's from the beginning that the problem starts, it's like her body doesn't think the pups are there... her heat cycle was out of it's normal "sync" she was due in this month, coming in 2 months early, no bleeding very little swelling (totally not normal for her) - she wasn't "ready" to whelp - but the pups were "baked" and coming regardless. TWENTY SEVEN hours to deliver - one mammoth pup (wouldn't have been a problem had she been dilated as she normally does) took her FOREVER to deliver was stillborn, placentas began separation on remaining pups (8)
x-rays showed no pups retained (I was very worried about that) she usually gives "off her back" to her pups and is high maintenance after whelping...this time...normal feed is all she wants, upping protein, adding raw eggs and milk and 3 shots of oxytocin didn't faze milk production. I've never seen that happen. She's taking excellent care of them, just didn't have it to give them.
