the supply i buy dog systems from, has a 218 collar i would really like to have, its a tracker strike collar. is that a good brand i have a tracker strike collar and it is a great collar, i havent had any problems with it at all. if you find a good deal on a strike collar i would get it. brandon

How dependable are the collars that you can change your own batteries? I hate having to send mine out to get the batts replaced.. the collars are just as dependable as the sealed collars as long as you dont get mud or dirt on the rubber seals and let water get into the collar. the only thing that isnt the same with the replacable battery collars is that the batteries usually last anywhere from 100-400 hours and the sealed collars are usually 8000 hours it costs about 8 dollars for a battery and it costs about 35 dollars for a new battery in a sealed collar. over the coarse of many years you will spend more money on batteries for the replacable collar BUT you will not have to mail it off and do without it when the battery gets low..... personally i dont have a preference, i figure the both have advantages and i just take the ones i can get a good deal on. brandon
