ppl around these parts say it will ruin a dogs nose??? any suggestions?

I'd say that's a personal preference on bedding material. I use cedar shavings in all of my dogs houses....haven't had a problem with dogs not tracking whatever I'm hunting so I'd vote nope, it's a myth.

Yep, my hounds (should have said hounds do fine) and my catahoulas have colder than average for the breed....
