i give my grown dogs 1cc in a shot.my pups i just give a lil dot on the tongue.

but either one is alright? its alright to give them it in a shot or by mouth? i gave my redbone .4 cc but he is extremely skinny! u can see all his bones, i figured he wieghed around maybe 35-45 pounds...... do you think thats about right? i dont wanna kill them or anything because if you over dose them you will kill them right?

see the "ivomec for beagles" thread - that's for dogs in general - not just beagles and you give it orally, NOT in a shot.

Ivomec in a shot won't work for worming a dog, in can be effective for mange. Giving it in a shot changes the absorption of the drug. It's been proven since original market release that it's not even really effective for mange in shot form either. It's also much rougher on the kidneys in a shot. But, as fatcatpurdy says, to each his own.

Moxidectin (the drug in Pro-Heart 6) is given in a shot in deep muscle, normally in the back, it was taken off the market and later re-released. I don't remember the dosage used, it was given only once every 6 months for HW prevention. Personally, I'd be a little scared to use it, but it is another one out there for use.
