Had a private land owner call me at 1:30 yesterday and tells me while bush hogging he saw 8 hogs run across the road in front of him.He wanted to know how FAST can I get there,(It's 95 degrees).I told him it would take me at least an hour to saddle & load the dogs.He lives about 15 miles south of me and I had to get fuel.I met him at the gate and drove about three miles in the woods.I made a cast and in twenty minutes we were bayed.Caught a nice little piebald boar,(150 #'s).I like a quick hunt like that.Sure is hot & dry here.

mr.beagler they were headed to the river. It's 102 degrees here again today and no rain in the forecast. The game that I've been seeing here lately is moving in the hotest part of the day and are usually around a water hole.We need rain BAD !!!! Even the asphalt is getting dusty! This is the little peed off sucker. Will probably keep him for a pup trainer.

I like those spotted up hogs, usually have a lot more fight than run, make for good training...
the guys have been doing a lot of night hunting here, that lets me out...not much for tromping around at night...I'd rather watch the sun come UP than go DOWN.

Same here jcross. In my younger days I caught HUNDREDS of hogs at night. Now it's to hard for me to see if I'm grabbing the front or rear! We bayed this pig for the first time in the pen Saturday and he's a bite'r...... Dog grabs ear....... Hog grabs leg....... Took us a little while to stop the bleeding,he'll be sore for a few days.

My best friend lost his left thumb and indexfinger to one of them that like to chomp down. We almost lost my buddy to blood loss before we got him to the Hospital .....
Thank God he made it !
