alright ive been wondering what people have for pen floors, for my large hound(deer dogs) the pen floor is dirt floor, with gravel around the edges and under the water bowl to keep down erosion. and the rest of them are chained out. the beagles are in raised pens 2 feet off the ground with a wire floor. and 4 of the beagles are in a dirtfloor pen with gravel like the other one what you got?

Concrete. Ken used to finish for a living, so it was pretty cheep for us to do. Nice and easy to clean. Momma likes it like that!! When I do the kennels I just hose them off. Ken shovles it up. Not ME!! I convienced him to put in a septic like system so I can just wash them off. Gonna use a 50 gal drum with the bottom cut out and leach lines. My neighbor complained of the runn off onto his property. Since I clean them as much as he does, it is gettin done next weekend!

Right now I'm on rental property, so my pens are dirt floors, or chains. Houndmomma, keep us posted on that septic system, please. When we get "built" - we're going that route, just not sure exactly which way to set it up.
The kennels I built before moving here, I had a drainage ditch, worked for a while, but after a couple years, it REALLY needed changing.
