I live about 9 miles south of Fulton so I'm only about 15 miles from Amory..About a 15 or 20 minute drive..During the summer some of us get together just about every weekend and run our dogs at night..Just a few good ole boys setting on the tailgate and shooting the bull while listening to the dogs run.If your up this way one weekend and want to hear a race..Your welcome to go with us.But I'll warn you up front some times its a all night event..lol

I dont know anybody that still grabbles around here anymore or I would give You a heads up on the hot spots. If You ever need a place to camp around Enid give me a shout. I know a guy that used to hunt in C&Y. His first name is Chris and was from @ Tunica, MS. I think he lives down in South MS now.

Bruce I use to run limb lines on the old Tombigbee all the time about 20 miles north of where your fishing..I was fishing at the head waters where the big brown and Mackay's creek run together to make the Tombigbee. But was getting way to much help checking them if you know what I mean. The old river is kind of tricky at times and changes a lot from one rain to the next.I had a friend that had been running the Tombigbee scents he was old enough to drive a boat.Well 2 years ago he hit a under water sand bar and was thrown from the boat.He was wearing chest waders at the time so he didn't have a chance, and it took 6 days to find his body.I have ruined two boat motors in it my self by hitting under water logs and such,in spots I had been running all summer...So be careful that old river can fool you at times..And them cotton mouths grow big in that bottom..lol When they put the water treatment plant in at peppertown it hurt the old river and made it harder to run, up in the north part. They said it wouldn't.But pulling over 25,000,000 gallons of water a day out of it made a differences.Well Tupelo has a permit to pull that much water out a day if they need it.... Good luck with the grabbling and be safe....

DD444 I was thinking of putting some boxes in at the old river just off 41 coming in from Oakolona. Or in Becker Bottom. I thought i might not have to much help running my boxes off 41. What do you think? I don't mind a feller running my boxes so much but it makes me mad when I go to run one and some one has moved them. It happens all the time in Moon Lake. But we still catch some good fish there. See ya.

I haven't been in the river in a boat that for south..But have fished from the bank off of 41 and it looks good. And I have hunted the banks as for south as Smithvill.I don't think you would have to much help running them there. You don't see a lot of boat trailers at the ramp down there, like you do up here..I always liked fishing the old river but with my kids and the snakes and such.I'm staying more in the water way now.I can just picture how they would act if a cotton mouth fell in the boat with us!LMAO We seen a gator in the water way last year and I thought my youngest son was going to turn the boat over.

I saw a monster gator down in Yazoo county right next to one of the boxes...Made me think twice about running it. lol...but i did anyway. I have been in the drawing for the gator hunt last 2 years still nothing I am beginning to think they are fixed.
