Honey's I'm home. Well, if there is such a thing as good news and bad news, i guess i got it today. Some of you know and some don't that I have a lung disease called,COPD, I need to quit smoking. Hardest thing i have ever tried to do. But now i must really put my best foot forward and ask for all of you to Pray and give me the strength. On top of that, the doctor said i have GAD, which is generalized Anxiety disorder, and depression which goes hand in hand with being terminally ill. So the bottom line is this my friends. If i stop smoking i can be around for 5 yrs or longer. If i don't, well lets just say i would only be celebrating one more birthday with you all and that would be next month. I hate to tell you everything out straight, but i feel like that is what you do with family as you all feel you are to me.

Susan, I can honestly say I dont smoke and I dont know how hard it would be to quit. I will say that I will continue to pray for you. I do hope that things will get better for you.

Susan, My husband and I quit quite a few years back. I had smoked since I was 12 or 13. He had too. I quit when I was pregnant with my first daughter almost 9 years after I started. That was the best motivation for quitting. Then after 4 years started again and smoked for about 6 more years. Quitting got harder each time I tried to quit. Finally Ken and I just put them down and decided that was it. We bought the first set of patches and had enough for each of us for a week. Couldn't afford any more than that. It took off enough of the edge to quit. Lots of carrots to chew on. You are in my thoughts and prayers, you can do it!

Keeping you in my thoughts and prayers. My grandma has COPD and finally got the idea that she had to stop smoking or else the last time that she was in the hospital. She still has trouble, but not like she used to.
