Just wondering anybody knows anything about speakers and subwoofers here??.. Looking to put something like that in my truck to bring the bass out in my Jensen-Stereo, the stereo works great but the speakers in there suck so wondering if Id be better off to buy new speakers or get subwoofers??.. Im figuring speakers but thought Id ask before I put ne money in the idea....-tim

well DH,
when i was in highschool i hooked up stereos, amps and speakers for my friends and their friends. if you want that ghetto bump bump then you need sub woofers..... i had 2 10" kicker competition woofers in a box and they could bang pretty good. but i never turned them up loud like that..... i would listen to country and rock and just put enough sub in it to make it sound really nice.
so if you just want good sound then you need to replace your factory speakers with some good ones, like jensen, pioneer, rockford fosgate, ect..... a truck with a sub or two can sound really good without bein a ghetto truck so to speak. i had a 400 watt boss amp that i ran about 100 watts on with no bridge, built in crossover a non sealed box so it was a good sound without the bump.
i would just start out with some mid priced pioneer speakers and i think you would be very impressed with the sound you get from that.

Thanks havis, I was thinking along them lines because both my dad and ma's vehicles have good bass in them without woofers.... They are both dodge, one is an Intrepid with a Pioneer-Stereo and my dad's is a 05 Dakota and I dont what kind of radio is in that thing but it sounds great I think.... Thanks again brandon, Ill go speaker hunting here after awhile....-tim

10-4... you should be able to go to any audio shop and they can tell you what brands will sound best and what brands offer a size that will fit your factory speaker holes and mounts.
let me know how it goes, and if you get the sound you want. im lookin to replace my radio and speakers in my z-71. its 5 years old and they are all wore out.
