What kind of dog boxes you fellas got in your hunting rig? I currently have an old wooden one that aint very big and my dad is using the aluminum one but Im getting ready to built on out of wood onto my hunting truck.... Dont intend to get rid of it just gunna keep it to hunt in so gunna built the dog box right onto the bed of the truck.... Gunna lay 2x4s across the bed of the truck, then lay a peice of birch plyboard across them and screw the whole deal to the bed of the truck.... Gunna make the back and front out of plyboard to more than likley and leave a space at the front of the bed to throw a deer.... Just wondering you fellas takemeasy and have a good season....-tim

Dont laugh at me but I have 2 large pet porters. I can get them loaded and unloaded easily and quickly. I even have my 4-wheeler fixed so I can strap one on the back of it during hunting season.

My dogbox is finished now just trying to get home early enough to get pics of it to put up here!!!!!!!!! It is framed up out of Cypress2x6s and covered with BirchPlyboard......... It takes up the WHOLEbed of the truck and where the door is is made into bars kind of and it has a strip all along the top of the box for air all the wayaround it......... For finishing touches we added a metaldoor with latch, salt-treated 2x2 rails along the top on threesides and two coats of varnish with caulkin between the cracks to keep water out......... Even got a peice of birchplyboard inbetween the cab and the box to keep water out that thing is right now just gotta get pics and some dogs to ride around in it..........-tim

Regal. But a friend of ours made one that looks better than any professionally made box that I have ever seen. He put the storage in the bottom in drawer form. Looks realy good and holds 3 hounds instead of two like your prof. ones do. Said it cost him a lot less than buying one did. Thinking about having him make me one.

i have a steel box, its big and its heavy, i can load it by myself but i have to be able to back my truck right up to it and flop it in the bed. its 4' x 4' and about 30" tall i guess. i got it froma guy that didnt want it a while back and i put a new piece of 3/4" on top. it holds a lot of dogs, and they have plenty of room. before next year im gonna put some sheet metal on the back and sides and leave about a 2 inch opening at the top .... i dont like one that is open all the way around, it dont givwe the dogs any protection while im drivin around and splashin through the mud. brandon
