up here the big problem we have is anti's takeing the collars off and tossing them in a deep river or they through them in a cullvert, thinking the metal will keep the signal from going out and they take the dog to the local shelter and lie about where and how they found the dog and bout 90% of the shelter workers are anti's, we dont have much of a problem with dogs getting shot, you sure dont want to get cault killing someone elses dog here, the courts will hang you for it and the people are starting to learn this, about 99% of the land owners where there is game to run want the hunters, all we can run with hounds here are varmits in most peoples eye's, we run bear, coyotes, coon and bobcats, we have lots of red fox but no one seems to run them, I had a anti take a dog to the shelter one time and i tracked the dog right to the shelter, the worker at the shelter told me they didnt have my dog, I told her, well its very possible that she didnt have my dog but that she did have my tracking collar there adn bout that time the old dog took to barking in the kennel and them I told her she had my dog cause thats him barking, I told her give me my dog or id call the state police and have her put in jail, she sure didnt want to give him back and I still had to tell her that i would call the cops if she didnt get me my collar, she just didnt want me to see her have to take the collar out of the trash can, thats when I called the cops, the only problem is animal lovers here, them anti's only problem is, is that they stick there nose into others bussiness, all animals hav e a place on earth and thats right next to the mash tatters and baked beans, have a great day.

thats to bad, wish they could have got more thou, 73 grand isnt a lot of money for 6 dogs, when you consider the time and money that goes into training and keeping hounds, the gas money spent to hunt and train them and then some sick SOB has to shoot them, but thats bout what we get, cases here the houndsmen get tween 10 and 20 grand a dog, in some cases ive heard of guys getting the shooters house, cars and trucks, and life time garneishments on there wages, till the cash value of the sentance is meet, its best to get fines like these in the news so the SOB's that do this stuff knows what the fines are, it makes them think twise in most cases, someone kills my hounds they sure dont want me to see them cause ill be the one infront of the judge and I do warn most people to not run, for I like a moveing target lol you know I have run dogs all my life and most game is on the run when i shoot and a standing target has a chance lol have a great day.

a buddy running with us this year had a dog missing, got a call from a shelter in Maine, four states from where we were running, and the ID microchip in the dog had been scanned, showed not only that he was the legal owner but that he had reported the dog missing. good investment and looks better than freeze brands, though I think the brands keep the dogs from being taken in the first place, like painting them often does too. I'll be dropping chips into our dogs here this year.

if someone in louisiana were to get caught shootin 6 collared deer dogs they would be in bad, bad trouble. 73,000 probably wouldnt post their bond. and if they got off easy as that then they would come up missing, and thats no joke. no one would no anything

the good thing about where i hunt is that there are so many dog hunters that no one makes a deal out of anything we do as long as we dont put them in danger. even the stricktly still hunters here dont get mad at us. in fact if they hear where we are runnin they will try to get on a stand as close to us as they can so they might get a shot at the deer. and they will catch our dogs and tie them to their bumper with a rope and call us on the CB or on the phone number on the collar. we dont have great big bucks here, but its probably one of the best places i know of to dog hunt.
