Have ribs cut in 3-inch lengths, with 2 or 3 ribs for each serving. Place pieces of rib in a roasting pan; cover with water. Add 1 medium onion, sliced, 1 tablespoon seasoned salt, 1/4 teaspoon pepper. Cover and simmer over low heat for 1 hour. Drain, reserving liquid. Pour over ribs a homemade or barbecue sauce to cover. Add 1 cup of reserved liquid. Bake, uncovered, in 350°F. oven, adding more barbecue sauce and/or liquid as necessary, until meat is fork tender.
