we use individual flea preventatives for each dog, but I have also heard of using cotton dust on the dogs. The lime helps bigtime. We once used a dip, where we had to completely submerge the dogs, but it was a hassle. Basically, you need something that kills fleas and eggs. Also, give a capstar pill to each dog before you use the preventative. The capstar kills all fleas on the animal within thirty mins. If it gets worse or doesn't get better, contact your local vet and ask their advice. I have been there and I am sorry you're having to deal with fleas.

You might not believe this but Ivory soap will kill fleas. I had fleas on my dogs bad one year and started washing them with the liquid Ivory soap and within about 4 weeks I had them under control, that was washing them once a week. I've been using the Advantage on them in the summer months and that seems to work pretty well altough it is costly.

Soap will kill fleas but it will not prevent reinfestation so you will have the problem over and over.Spend 20-25 dollars and save yourself a lot of headaches.Been using bayer for years(that's all my dad will let me use.LOL) and it will solve the flea problem quickly.

My experience with fleas is you use something that does good for couple years, then they get immune and take over, seems it's a constant change.

Bought a bottle of Bayers Tree & Shrub Insect Spray but can't find anywhere that tell how much to mix. For the ones that use this on fleas, how much do you use?
