Hey fellas, I am stumped on this one and hadnt really posted bout it till now but guess I dont have a choice anymore.... I honestly dont know much about dog-health.... I keep my dogs wormed the best I can but my aunt used to be a vet and knows 100x more about it than I do.... Therefore we have been letting her keep up with how our pups (7months old) have been wormed and everything like that.... Now that being said, we have kept them wormed and everything just like we are supposed to and still we lost two out of 9 pups, we gave one away a while back so that leaves us with 6 pups.... We talked to a vet in town and he gave us some different wormer to use and it has not done any good.... The thing is our pups are terribly skinny and one ofem looks like a skeleton just about.... They act fine, I mean they run around jump and act crazy like a puppys that age should, they play and everything and when it comes time to feedem they eat like hawgs!!.. They have a self-feeder full of feed all the time and I also givem some extra dry-food and can-food every day.... This has not helped much if any.... I know from other pups that we should be able to feed them half this much food and they should be plenty fat.... As much feed as we are giving them and they are eating they should be right rolly.... I dont think its worms because we have even given them extra wormer sometimes to make sure everything is got but to no use.... Finally we are breaking down and having a blood-test done tommorow.... Taking the skinniest pup in and see just what is wrong withem.... If this doesnt helpem I dont know what they are gunna do because if I dont getem well soon its gunna be to durned late to getem running by the right time and then they wont be worth a fart.... Just wondering if anybody had any ideas of what it might be.... Thanks in advance....-timrussell
PS:also just to clear things up a bit, it is not parvo, we thought that at first but their feces is not diahrea or black like digested blood or nothing.... Also none of them are eating grass or throwing up or anything like that....

1. Tape worms 2. Whip worms 3. Food quality 4. Cocciddiocisses(sp) Regular wormer doesn't kill tape/whip worms. If corn is in the top 3 ingredients it could be indigestible to the pups. If the feed is to hi-protein it could be indigestible to pups. The forth is a virus from birds and is treatable only by antibiotics from the vet. I hope all goes well. Let me know the diagnoses.

Botlegger! I would check the feed first.Make sure you are feeding a good feed.Turn the bag over and look at it's contents. If the first one is corn, you need a better feed.Next you should check for worms.Look at their gums and see if they are white or pale. They should be pink.Look at their stool and see if you see worms or any white speck in their stool.Make sure the dogs are free of ticks and fleas. Also make sure their pens are cleaned out and they are not walking in their feces. You can use lime and bleah in your pen to help with cleaning . If you are not on a good monthly wormimg routine you need to start Now!You must remember that you can not see all the worms a dog has.I use ivomec and safeguard horse worm every month on my dogs.Make sure you give the the right dosage for the dogs.If not you are wasting your time.

There pens are cleaned DAILY and are clean as I can possibly keep up with, they have clean water and the food I feed them is Pride in the orange-bag.... I will check to see if it has corn in it but I thought this was a good feed.... Just wanted to let yall know how things went at the vets today.... Thanks alot, I appreciate the help....-timrussell

Just curious what kind of wormer was being used. Round and hook are the most common worms a pup can get and are easy to kill so the pups should be fine know. Just make sure and re-worm them in 2 weeks. Also make sure and worm momma. She gets them from cleaning up after the pups if ya know what I mean.

The wormer is called Syntec or something like that.... It is a white liquid you shoot into their mouth.... The vet told us to do it 3days ina row, and then after two weeks do it again and that should take care of them.... Im sure now that we know what it is the pups will get better here ina lil while.... Thanks for the comments and all your help and concern....-timrussell
