i have been worming the pups every other week with an off the shelf wormer thats made for dogs of all ages. but i dont think this stuff is very strong. is it ok to worm them a couple of weeks in a row?
and i am going to go to ivermectim once they are a litle older, once they over a year old we use that cattle wormer in the big syring with the dosage adjustments... between those two it controls all the types of worms and we dont have to do it but like every 6 months.
im not a pro with the dogs vet care, i have always just listened to the "elders" of the huntin club and sometimes i dont think they know all of what they are talkin about. im learning to take full care of my own dogs but i just wonder about how they do stuff sometimes.... after all, these are the guys that have a little of 11 puppies and none of them live... not once but every time they have a little they never keep more than 2-3 alive.... so i dont really trust them
i guess what im askin for is a worming schedule, like you would do it, and what you use. ... how much, how often... ect.

I use ivemec at 7 weeks of age on my puppys and again in 2 weeks, in the baby puppys i use 3 eye drops the first time and the second time I give them 5 eye drops, what I do is just take the needle off and give the drops that way.
I use ivermec once a month in skeeter season, for adult hounds i give 1/10 cc per 10 pounds of body weight, for example if a dog weights 45 pound i give tween 4/10ths and 1/2 cc of ivermec, 100 pound dog gets 1 full cc etc. I use ivermec from one month after I see the first skeeter in the spring till the skeeters are gone for the winter.
once a year i use a horse wormer called safe gaurd, I use 1/3 of a tube, for 3 days in a row, this gets all the tapes and what ever else the ivermec dont get, If I think i have tapes or any thing else I will hit them with the safe gaurd, but if I dont see any signs of tapes or any thing else, I still use it atleast once a year.
thats what i do for worming my dogs and it seems to work fine for me.
ivermec caution, dont not use ivermec in collies, unless you want to get rid of them fast, ivermec will kill most all collies over night, trust me.
