WE put salt out in five gallon buckets with a pipe cut into side of the bucket so that the rabbit can eat without being bother by predators.Works really good.

Here's a picture for you: Use at leaset 6" to 8" pipe for these.THe rabbits are able to enter the bucket and eat without predators bothering them.WE put out 2 tons of salt last year in these feeders.I would suggest placing them in or near heavy cover and close to a water source. You can use mineral salt, icecream salt, salt blocks or salt bricks. We use the loose salt in ours.Let me know if I can help you with them.

Just wondering Can't say for sure, but I have seen a lot more rabbits in the area that has the salt placed in it. I don't turn the dogs loose near these feeders.I want the rabbits feel that this is a safehaven for them.
