attenuator or not... the system works well enough to take your hounds home every night. i used one for a while and had zero complaints about. there are a lot of functions that could make things "better" but for the money, the system is great.

i use a wildlife 1000 and wildlife collars. works great. the only drawback is too bulky to carry in the woods to get a dog back.

wildlife 1000 219, 12 johnson d collars, a quicktrack 6000 and we had a magnum but my brother managed to lose it somehow. we were catching a dog and i guess he put it on top of the dogbox and it fell off and someone picked it up........

I run a quicktrack 10M with two innotek collars...I can't really complain about it, cuz it gets the job done.

I use the Garmin Astro with the dc30 collars. I have found them pretty reliable in lightly timbered bush out to about 1.75km. Around 1km in more dense scrub. I like the fact that i can watch my dogs move on the screen & most times i can tell when they are hot on the trail of pig. Good to know when they are nearing a water course also - as where i live & hunt Crocodiles inhabit the waters.....
Cheers

Some of the hound guys in Vic are using the Garmin astro systems and they seem to go alright down here in the hills We are still using Titley at the moment and will see how much moe battery life they can get into the GPS collars on the next year or two

yeah good point Kiwi - that is one of the few problems i can find with the Astro, low battery life less than 36hrs!

Started out with a wildlife TRX 10s with wildlife collars. I got really good range and held up for over 10 years and I am tough on equipment.
Went with a Tracker Maxima so I could track multiple Frequencies. Didn't like there collars. I got better range from the wildlifes. Don't like the range I got with the Receiver either. I got it modified for a long range antenna. Did not increase my range much and the antenna is to bulky. The only reason I still keep it is to run extra collars when I have to many dogs for the Astro 220 I have now.
No comparison! The Garmin 220 and 320 is so superior. I hate having to use anything else. If they could increase battery life or make it where you could reset the sending time of the collar by remote they would put all other trackers out of business. (my personal opinion)
