We run in Trails all year long except the really hot months which we are in right now, but even this time a year we try to tough a few of them out. I enjoy 3-days and puppy hunts the most but we also go to a good many one day HGA and SD. Been having pretty good luck as of late. I've got two Smokey G's I've won a money hunt and placed 3rd at another money hunt with in Hallsboro and my kennel partner has been placing right many dogs off Ch. Adams Rowdy Colby, he placed two dogs at the Dismal swamp back in may. Got a puppy hunt this weekend at Mill Creek in Wadesboro, I plan on carrying two Lisa's Nightmare pups and Two Adams Rowdy Colby pups along with my parnter taking a real solid Ambler ridge guy pup that has been placing well lately. What pens do you like to run in ?

Yes his sire was Rickeys Hyco J. and dam Rickeys Hannah he is really producing some fine pups easy starters and hard to beat scoreing across the board hunting trailing s@d and endurance and from what I hear making good outside hounds the kind of hound that will run all night till you pull him off the trail give him a days rest and go do it again.

hello, waylow from west central arkansas here in the ouachita mountains. I too enjoy the field trials, but only got to go to one this spring, the Lake Ouachita spring hunt which is outside. Where I placed one male second in the derby and one sixth.

Waylow, so far we still get to run them, for the moment. What gives us the biggest rivalry is the influx of new people in the area who dont like or understand why we hunt with dogs. So far the local dog hunters here have done a good job of sticking together, and that is what it is going to take to keep our dogs. But one of these days it will end here to. If you will go to the agfc web site and look at the commission report compiled of input from game and fish personel (from around zone 11 where we live and hunt ) there top priorities are listed there and I beleive number 3 is to eliminate (YES ELIMINATE) not restrict deer hunting with dogs. And the only reason I can see that they would want to take them away is because some people dont like them. Nobody will ever be able to prove to me that dogs have a detramental effect on the deer population in an area, although you here people say this all the time. I invite anyone , anyone who beleives that dogs hurt the deer pop. to come for a visit on our deer lease where dogs are ran on average 3 to five nights a week. On the worst you will see 20to 30 and on the better days 35 to 70 these are all seen the last couple of hours before dark. Then go over on the forest service property where people dont run as often and you cold drive for a week and not see as many as what we see in a single after noon. I know the dogs arent the cause for our pop. being larger on our lease, its the clear cuts makes better habitat than thinned timber, but it should prove that dogs dont hurt. Oh yea we have more turkey than they do to. Sorry I ranted this long, do you know anyone who lives down here around lake ouachita, or hot springs?

waylow, i made hycos cross. they were born at my house in nw florida.had a couple of friends come down to a field trial(billy blake and jason raulston) and me and jason swapped puppies. they took hyco back to mo. hycos sire was gunstock zippy. he was a tough cuss at field trials but weren't worth a dime for foxhunting. his owner will tell you the same thing. hycos momma was liqour bred and we had several that didn't care for long game(deer) at all but get them after a varmit and it was on. sure would like to have that pack back............tony
