i bet that is one gritty son of a gun with that hound and jagd crossed she actually stays back and bays till something else catches. had her in the baypen and she would catch if the hog came after me. ;D she's a nut. gonna try to breed her to a full jagd next time she comes in heat That sounds interesting. Have seen a few really nice redbones - have heard great things about the jagd's

Seems like it would be hard to break a walker from wanting to run deer.

You'd be surprised really, but mostly you'll see treeing bred dogs rather than running bred dogs used for hogs. LOL, they're no worse to break than a deer loving beagle or catahoula, I PROMISE! I have an old gyp that will SMOKE a hog, but by golly, if she takes a notion to run a deer (now I just use her for a deer dog in the woods - or on cattle - don't even try on hogs anymore) she is leaving town with it! I've flipped her cup over tea kettle and watched her get right back up and strike that track again....flip her tail, and back to the track she goes....HUSSY. LMAO Only way to stop her is hold that ZAP button - ain't worth it to me, just pulled her out of the hog pack...run her with the beagles now. She's a money earning hog dog, NALC titled dog, conformation, A Bay and B Bay pointed, awesome cow dog, but that wench is GOING to run a deer....UNLESS you get her bayed on a hog and QUICK.

I've seen a LOT of good Walker dogs that would bay the hair off of a hog ! We are running one right now,MOUTHY,but will burn a hawg up ! She's the one on the left. Three young dogs and the Walker was about 1 & 1/2 years old.
