thats great advice vahunter,i fished the james mostly between deep bottom boat ramp and jimmy deans place, we used to put in at deep bottom and also fished around jimmy deans place.. it's been a long time since I fished that area I can't remember where what is anymore... as far as the boat ramp names.. but I do remember using that boat ramp.. Help me out here is that the ramp where the power plant is? I really miss fishing up that way. we would catch some big cats up there. 40 and 50 pounders just about every trip...

thats right vahunter, the boat ramp at the power plant is "dutch gap"and just around the corner closer to jimmy deans is "osbourn landing".if you go down river about a mile past jimmy deans theres an old exon filling dock for the barges on the left side of the river in a corner, ive put many big fish in the boat right here.including some nice stripers...

Man I miss that river, lots of good times and lots rod and reels lost to that river.. LOL As for stripers we fished cheasapeake bay bridge tunnel at night under the lights. You could literally walk on water.. no joke they are every where.... We also fished the Chick.. We caught some big stripers there as well... Virginia has a good fishery.. I remember fishing the chick. for crappie we would land some nice ones there 1lb to 1 3/4lb.. That was some big crappie, well till I moved here to MS. Me and some buddies went fishing here at a lake named Arkabutla Lake.. We caught crappie in the 3lb range I was in AWE!!!!!!!! I only seen crappie that big at aquiriums LOL.. MS has some big crappie.... Maybe when I go back to visit my parent we can get together and wet a hook... Parents live in New Kent county. We go there at least once a year.. I think I still remember some hot spots.

I do like eating the smaller ones alot beter... Really you don't want to eat any fish out of the lower james. There warnings out.. Do not consume more than 8oz a day.. Hey post some of those big cats on here... Big cat season is coming up...

Okay - now we want to see pictures! THAT I know how to do - haha. Go to www.tinypic.com, click "browse" select the picture (if you need to resize so it's not giant sized and digital pix need resizing) when you highlight a picture to select it - right click on the picture - click edit, then strech/skew to about 25% and save - then select it at that size (I'll usually "save as" and rename keeping both the regular and smaller size picture) then click "host" - copy the link it provides it'll begin with [h ref whatever info is in those brackets] copy it (be sure to use the link with these [] rather than these<>..... for this board press ctrl c to copy then ctrl v to drop it in your message. There you have a picture.
