We were fishing out of LOW FALLS LANDING today. We got a late start on the morning , leaving the dock around 8:30 or so. Team BeagleMan consisted of myself, Beagleman and JoJo. We left the docks with 4 cups of RED WORMS, 2 cups of BLUE BAIT, 100 CRICKETS, and one large TUB of what I will call MEAL WORMS for the sake of this post. THey looked like MEAL WORMS to me. I found them a couple days ago in a barrel of SWEET FEED. BeagleMAn deffinatly dominated the GAME today. JoJo (formerly of TEAM JEFFERSON) would have been second, and I was dead last. It seems the fish prefered the BLUE BAIT. But we did get bites on all bates we took, even the MEAL WORMS worked. Totals for the day: 61 BREAM and SHELLCRACKERS 3 CATFISH 1 small turtle (to be friends with my other turtle) The weather was very HOT and the water was very LOW. Catch a few fish and move. We tried to fish in the SHADE most of the time. We had to cull out Twice as many fish as we kept to get the ones we kept. Everyone had a good time. We got to watch some GATORS. They were crosssing the river back and forth all day. GATOR would cross the water, then a FAMILY would come around the bend with their KID in TOW on a little FLOAT. Kid would loose the rope, Family would drive the BIG BOAT up and swap the KID for another. Right where I had just seen the GATOR. I figure they must had been paying more attention to the children and not enough attention ahead of the boat or they would have seen the big old gator. I am adding some pics of our trip. Pics of JoJo and his catch, and JoJo catching some rest after the trip. GUess the SUN and FUN got to him. Also we saw DOZENS of DEER in the deer pen on the way to the landing. Some were very large. BUCKS laying down and you can see their racks over the grasses while driving down the road. BIG.

MrBeagler we are in Sandy Run, South Carolina. The gators i was talking about are the ones in Santee Cooper. We got lots of them too, but most people try and say we don't, but I see them all the time. On the Congaree River here by the house most people wont beleive you when you tell them they are there, but again I see them. It just suprises me to see parents pulling their kids on floats around them gators. There is this one large one that was on the bank the other day. She was way up on the bank. when we heard the commotion we thought that it must be pigs. We expected to see pigs running away, but instead we saw a large wad of bushes and briers headed towards the water. It was a HUGE Gator. She slapped her tail and snapped her jaws. She appeared to litteraly RUN across the water towards the boat as we were Ideling by. She went under the boat and we left her alone. Later that day on our way up fishing along the bank we noticed her. She hung around us all day and escorted us almost back to the landing. She was so huge. She seemed aggressive. I wonder maybe if she had young there. This is an area that KYAKERS like to freqent. If I saw her while I was in a KYAK the hair on my body would stand on end no doubt. Just wondering, do the kids there swim and play around the gators?
If you ever get to the area, look us up and we wil give you a tour of the lake. I love it there, It is just beautiful place to fish and hunt.
I will look for more pics from the lake and add them later.

The beauty of this area is breathtaking at times. I love the CYPRESS trees. I have been gathering the seeds and starting my own trees at the nursery where I work. I started some last March and they are 4 foot tall this year. I put some more pics up under my new post. Just curious where about are you at? I saw a gotor today and got some pics, but there was a lot of sun out and not the best pic...

Im in central Fl. Very near the St Johns river and the southern tip of the Ocala National Forest.
I know what you mean about the cypress trees lineing the banks . I also fished that river above commerical catfishing. we ran 35 Hoop nets year round and winter time I ran 500 hook trotlines. I could only run trotline when the temp was and stayed below 50 otherwise the Gators played havac on the lines . they destroyed them.
I also was a Nuesence Gator Trapper for the state of FL my partner and I processed these and sold the hides and meat. All this was before I became disabled 4 years ago.
I use to see Eagles all the time on the river and deer swimming it its a site if true beauty out there, specialy right at daylight right as the world of the wild is wakeing up and the fog is lifting off the water.
I sure do miss it ......

Nice mess of fish. It reminds me of going to the Suwanee River, I live about 30 minutes away from it and haven't been in awhile.
MRBEAGLER- I grew up fishing in the St Johns river, every year we would go over there and go when the bream were bedding and catch fish until we were tired of it. Those were some fun times and great scenery- i sure miss it too.
