Cobra and Uniden both make Cb's that are good radio's, that are affordable..depending on what you want some of them can be pricey..Some folks don't know the Uniden and Cobra have the same boards inside. But the price of the Uniden is easier on the pocket book..So I would say the Uniden would be your best bet for a good cheap CB..But thats just my opinion...

Our hunting club switched to Marine Radios and it's been great, no junk to listen to and cheap radios.

i run a cobra in my truck, and after dads old radio went out he got a uniden that is just about the same as my cobra and he gave a lot less for it and it works just as good as mine. im with dd... a uniden would do you really good for a good price.

Kris runs a nice Uniden in his semi and it gets out really good. He says he likes it better en the Cobra. It is the same size and all but he says the Uniden peaks and tunes better than the Cobra.

I personally dont like Cobras because they dont have High/Low Channells, I dont know if the Unidens do or not.... My radio is a General-Lee with a Cobra Power-Mike.... Im gunna put a Marine-Radio in my truck of some kind because not all the clubs around here have made the change yet.... I do agree that it is much better off to hunt with the marines to get away from the traffic on there but cant convince everybody I guess so I just get both.... As far as cheap cb-radios go Superstar makes a great one.... My Dad has always ran Superstars with NO problems, and his last one just died and it has been around ever since I can remember.... I think the black-superstars are perty good to such as the 121s but I dont know about the new ones honestly.... My Dad is gunna get a General like mine after using it.... By the way, my General was around 300bucks brand new compared to the 121-Superstars at around 180....-tim

Kris says his next radio will be a General Lee. He bought a Ranger with a built in amp from his dad but Swift says it puts out toooo much power in their trucks and he is not allowed to use it.

Well the Gen Lee and the Superstar and Galaxy radios all have the same main boards in them, some of the cobra and uniden radio can have low/hi channels put in them, the new cobra radios are not the same as the uniden radios like they used to be.If you need info on a radio just ask i have been into cb radios for a long time

General Lee and the Connex 3000 are the same radio. The difference is with the General Lee you can turn off the talk back inside your truck. You cant do that with the Connex. I am now talking on a Cobra and yes it does have the high and low channels. Also have built in echo as well but I have it turned off and I have the talk back turned off as well.

i havent had a reason to mess with the radios, i still run the same cobra 29ltd that i have run for several years. it works fine and doesnt mess up on me. as far as the high/low goes, you can buy a cobra cb that does high/low, its just not gonna be as cheap and the 25 or 29. i run 2 fiberglass sticks and factory everything on the cb and i can talk plenty far enough to get ahead of the dogs. the linears do no do any good for you if the other people in the club do not run them also. it dont do any good to be able to talk 15 miles if the people you are talking to are only able to talk 6 miles.
