Thanks for the info renegadehunter...I have been seeing west coast telemetry collars on ebay but didn't know of anyone that had used them. What kind of range do you get with yours?

depending on weather conditions and terrain, i have gotten 6 miles out of them. that's the furthest i can say, havent had hounds get any further away yet.

I sell West Coast telemetry collars from time to time. They were the original makers of the quick track collar, before they went to the newer style mold.

carolina..... that system is a great system. it tracks its collars perfect for deer hounds. the only reason i went to a quicktrack 6000 was so i could track all of the collars of the guys i hunt with. if i only used it for coonhuntin then i would still have it. but i have guys that have 8-9 collars in 218 freq that i cant track and i had a guy that had 5 or 6 217 collars that werent in my range. if you are using them to track your own dogs then i really thing that the rd-400 is all you need...... my quicktrack system gets a little more range, and tunes in more precise, but its a lit more hassle to get out of the truck cause you have to fold out antennas and tighten wing nuts..... the rd-400 you just slide it out of the case and its ready to go.
